If it looks stupid but it works, it's not stupid
that being said, Pereira and Rakic are literally two of the worst stylistic matchups for him, he easily cleans everyone in the top 10 besides these two
One of my fav current fighters, he neglects his defense a lot and depends mainly on head movement, which punishes him because itās the fucking lightheavweight division where it take on shot to take you out.
Great fighter but his style is not sustainable in the long run. Dude has lots of fight-miles on him despite only having 4 fights in the ufc. He needs to be more calculated and less wild of he wants to stay healthy enough to stay competitive in his mid 30s
I'm not saying they are fighting the same. I'm saying they are both guys who will be at the top of the division but there will always be a fighter who is better than them.
Dustin has always kept high ranks but never been great enough to be at the top.
I expect the same for Jiri.
They also are two entertaining fighters who can still put on big fights despite not being championship material (Jiri got lucky that the division was dead, 155 will never be dead unless 165 comes).
Also Dustin has had nearly 30 fights in the ufc and jiri is going to fight for the 5th time and you already assume that jiri is not good enough to be champ he only 31 I bet he can still be champ in the future.
Dustin Porierās technique is in a different league relative to Jiriās. He just so happens to be near the top of the LHW ladder because the division is pretty shallow
Well I kinda agree with the Garen guy at the top of our thread below your og comment, I only partially agree with you, but disagree as well because I donāt think Jiri and Porier are great comparisons. Idc about the Tony thing
Dustin is not āabove average.ā He was a champion caliber fighter who had the misfortune of experiencing his peak during Khabibās reign and Charlieās come up.
That smug look he had as soon as he stepped inside of an octagon with Pereira made me dislike him.
Dude was looking at Alex with eyes of pure false confidence.
His eyes were saying:"I am Godly, I am a sculpture of a Greek God, I am the sword of a Samurai, I'm Mel Gibson in Braveheart.
What his brain was thinking: Oooohhh shit I'm about to get my ass beat
And Pereira over there looking like a šæ: I'm gonna chew on your children and spit our fossils.
I think of him like the guy from 300 with the Sparta kick, a total bad ass. I think his samurai gimmick has overstated his actual skill set but he's pretty damn cool but I don't think he'll be champ anytime soon
You mean UFC 300?
Better Johnny Walker
Amazing fighter, very entertaining to watch, crowd pleasing performances, just too wild for his own good.
Berserker. Top 5 most entertaining fighters in the UFC.

He's fighting on 300

Overrated. No fundamental in striking and gets away with his athleticism. If Glover was 5 years younger, he would have beat him.
his style could cost him when older like tony is right now. and if that chin goes yikes
Agreed
Yep to this day he still sucks at striking defense, you are right
Thank god someone else agrees with me on this. I think he is SO overrated.
BMF
Above average and fairly entertaining. The Dustin Porier of 205
Nah heās more the Tony Ferguson of lhw, Dustin is more calculated and technical.

Yeah but jiri was the undisputed champ and Dustin only the interim + jiri didnāt lose his belt.
What was Tony ? Brother you might think you're cooking but there's still time to delete your takes.
Nah
Also Dustin has had nearly 30 fights in the ufc and jiri is going to fight for the 5th time and you already assume that jiri is not good enough to be champ he only 31 I bet he can still be champ in the future.
If the division stays like it is then yeah I could see him getting there again, he's not dominant enough to keep it tho.

You can stop gobbling his meat for a second
Idk man, he phrased it poorly but the message is there
Explain better ? I don't see Tony at all when I look at Jiri apart from when he asks unhinged like Tony.
I meant that Jiri and Porier are different fighters, and only really resemble each other shallowly as placeholders in their respective divisions
That's exactly what I am saying. Thanks for agreeing š Is Dustin not the above average but entertaining fighter of 155 ?

Sorry for trying to have a discussion here. Forgot this sub is circlejerk
My apologies, come back baby x
Uh oh itās the insecure baby being insecure again
Bro you've been on Reddit since 2018 go get some fresh air or pay to see a pussy.
There he goes again ā¹ļø poor widdle guy
Dustin is not āabove average.ā He was a champion caliber fighter who had the misfortune of experiencing his peak during Khabibās reign and Charlieās come up.
Overrated but very entertaining
cool guy
Not sure why all the fanboys are up on his nuts tbh
Iād bet on him but I have also never won an mma fight bet sooooooo
Tough clown
Cringe roleplayer
Good power and not much skill elsewhere. My thoughts at least.
I'll never forgive him for calling me a pussymens

Chaos, not very controlled lol
Based
If jiri didnāt fight he would be one of those people who walks around life on all fours like a horse
GOAT
He's not been his best in title fights, could be scary when it all lines up. Highly entertaining figure.
That scream has been perfected, every time he accidentally cuts one of his long hairs...he lets loose.
