Pulisic and Musah have both had good halves. Pulisic had a fantastic assist and put the ball in some dangerous areas. Musah has been great driving the ball forward.
Milan look so much more dangerous when they attack off the right side because Pulisic actually passes the ball and tries to play 1-2’s. Leao trying to just dribble through everybody and it’s just not working lately
Saw some speculation that they may have done a planned sub slightly early because they'd lost a substitution window due to the injury and a sub at half doesn't cost a window.
Announcers seem to think it's a minutes restriction? Which isn't the worst idea with Pulisic. Romero deserves some time, they already used a sub window with the injury and they're ahead in this game. But still, kinda weird
[Italian news](https://www.milannews.it/news/mn-perche-e-uscito-pulisic-contrattura-e-cambio-precauzionale-contusione-per-kalulu-512570) saying that Pulisic's sub was precautionary due to a "contrattura." Google doesn't seem to know how to translate that and gives "contracture."
from those four given in the translator I used, I would say muscle tightness. Although he could have been been switched out for any of the four. There is no way he could have known the momentum would switch that hard. He prob felt confident they could easily see the game out so why risk it.
He did his job, was threatening up front and got an assist.
At 2-0 why risk the long term effectiveness of one of your important producers?
People are gonna shit on piloli, but I think he did the right thing, especially when you consider pulisics inury record.
This isn't FIFA.
But isn't it different because it's caused by physical trauma? I only think of a charlie horse as a spasm caused by getting hit. I have no idea if that's true, but that was how I have always thought of them.
With no midweek game, I really can't imagine the half time sub was a minutes management issue. Unfortunately I think it is more likely an injury, but I hope I'm wrong.
It really hasn’t been that bad besides the Turner blunder. Paredes was a nice surprise. The shittiest weekends are when most of our boys sit on the bench
I guess he's still played nearly 180 minutes in the last week, so I could see managing minutes with his injury history. Just hoping he didn't tweak anything towards the end of the half...
They will play all the competitors for the title again. I don't know how many points it will take to win the Scudetto this year, but it's all about consistency. You can't drop points to teams you ought to beat and you need to get some results against your competitors. So far it's looking like Milan will be in the race, but they will have to keep beating mid and bottom table teams and they will need to do a lot better against top table teams.
Milan's attack has completely fallen apart without our guy pulling the strings.
If it was a planned sub, that's a ridiculous substitution that might end up costing Milan the game.
Don't have one other than just watching Kvaradona and Oshimen last year which was a ton of fun. But in general, I will always cheer against Super League teams, because that went against everything that I love about soccer. So like if Milan is playing any Italian team other than Inter or Juve, I'll hope for Puli to have a brace both assisted by Musah but for them to lose 3-2
I guess a time management sub would kinda make sense but less when it’s only 2-0(now 2-1) which is a dangerous lead that can easily be cut down. 50/50 chance I guess we’ll see after. If it ends up that it was a time management sub that probably says good things that Pioli thinks Pulisic is his most important offensive player atm.
Of course I want to see the USMNT thrive and do great things but I can’t express the joy I have seeing our best players shine week in and out with top clubs in Europe. It brings so much joy to me
The Pulisic sub will prove to have been an awful decision if it wasn’t for an injury
But regardless of whether AC Milan continues to fumble the bag, this has been an awesome game to watch. It’s been high octane since the first minute
Puli giroud bromance continues
Maybe more than a bromance. I saw Olivier giving him kisses in the celebration.
You’ve clearly never been around French/Italian/Spanish people
Pulisic and Musah have both had good halves. Pulisic had a fantastic assist and put the ball in some dangerous areas. Musah has been great driving the ball forward.
Pulisic and Musah are cooking
Pulisic off at halftime. Hopefully just a situation trying to get him rest and not an injury
Yeah I doubt it's injury related. They will probably bunker down this half to hold the lead.
So much for that strategy!
Yeah....
Milan look so much more dangerous when they attack off the right side because Pulisic actually passes the ball and tries to play 1-2’s. Leao trying to just dribble through everybody and it’s just not working lately
What a left footed dime!
Sure as hell was. Such a great ball.
Puli assist!!!
Puli has been Milan’s best attacker the last few games but I would love to see him get back on the score sheet today.
Tbf he’s scored 2 of their last 3 goals. Our boy needs help!
Sets up giroud for the first goal for Milan. Nice assist
PULASSIST!!!!!
Muscle strain for pulisic. Precautionary.
Shit
It could be nothing or he might be out for a few weeks. Gotta wait for more news
I’d go a step further when it comes to him…could also be a few months. You just never know with him.
Pulisic on a roll... nice pass
For those of you not watching, Musah and Pulisic are on fire!
Musah and Pulisic have been 👌
Just ok??!! (jk)
Beautiful from both Pulisic and Giroud, they love to play together.
He was their best attacker in the first half. Has to be a pre-planned minutes management issue or a first half injury.
Saw some speculation that they may have done a planned sub slightly early because they'd lost a substitution window due to the injury and a sub at half doesn't cost a window.
Pulisic has been so good today. He’s so good in these fast paced back and forth games
Announcers seem to think it's a minutes restriction? Which isn't the worst idea with Pulisic. Romero deserves some time, they already used a sub window with the injury and they're ahead in this game. But still, kinda weird
Weird since he had to come off in the first half vs juventus just the other day
[Italian news](https://www.milannews.it/news/mn-perche-e-uscito-pulisic-contrattura-e-cambio-precauzionale-contusione-per-kalulu-512570) saying that Pulisic's sub was precautionary due to a "contrattura." Google doesn't seem to know how to translate that and gives "contracture."
I think it means muscle tightness.
Muscle strain
>contrattura noun: Contracture, contraction, charlie horse, spasm
None of those is right in context though. It should be something like muscle strain, muscle tightness, or muscle cramps, and I have no idea which.
from those four given in the translator I used, I would say muscle tightness. Although he could have been been switched out for any of the four. There is no way he could have known the momentum would switch that hard. He prob felt confident they could easily see the game out so why risk it.

A Charlie horse is a cramp/spasm.
But isn't it different because it's caused by physical trauma? I only think of a charlie horse as a spasm caused by getting hit. I have no idea if that's true, but that was how I have always thought of them.
Hasn’t scored yet but this This is the sharpest I’ve seen pulisic look..maybe one bad touch all half
Cheesing hard…Pulisic and Musah are putting on a clinic.
This has redeemed the weekend.
Assist!
Musah cooking now
Wow. The boys look incredible. I was worried they'd come out flat and tired today after the number of minutes they've been playing, but...WOW.
Unlucky deflection for Pulisic there at the end.
With no midweek game, I really can't imagine the half time sub was a minutes management issue. Unfortunately I think it is more likely an injury, but I hope I'm wrong.
Pulisic just put in an absolute masterclass first half. Holy shit. LETS GO
PULI-sic assist
God fucking bless Giroud. Washington to Lafayette yet again
He's America's favorite Frenchman
Milan are fucking cooking
This game is fun, but you feel like Milan will need to score another at some point edit: like that I guess hah
Do it again
Puli off for minute management I’m assuming, if they weren’t up by two he’d probably still be on
The game completely changed once Pulisic got subbed off.
Let’s hope for a great game from these two, because it’s been a shitty weekend for the yanks abroad.
It really hasn’t been that bad besides the Turner blunder. Paredes was a nice surprise. The shittiest weekends are when most of our boys sit on the bench
Reyna, Balogun, and Weah were pulled at halftime.
And Tillman
Weah had a physical issue so left as a precaution.
Reyna and Weah weren’t even playing a few weeks ago…
4 of our better players got pulled at halftime. Rough weekend but how they react is more important.
Weah was pulled as a health precaution. By all accounts he had a good first half. Not sure why Reyna, Balogun, and Tillman were.
Only thing that could make this a worse weekend is a CP injury 🫣
SHUSH
Let’s not speak this into existence, because the way things are going it feels like this would an eventual outcome 🤣
Ugh, did you jinx it?! Damnit
![gif](giphy|l0ErFgOht0LZMHjRm)
That was sick from pulisic
Milan are feasting here and Puli and Musah have been great. If Leao could step up this game could be over
As soon as Reijnders adds goals to his game, he's going to be highly sought after in a few years.
He has to have the least accurate finishing record of all time. Every time he’s on the ball he shoots from 25 yards and it sails over the goal.
he had an offer from barca and Milan...if you mean higher value, yeah, he just needs some rest.
Off at half. That’s odd.
Mans been playing a lot
I guess he's still played nearly 180 minutes in the last week, so I could see managing minutes with his injury history. Just hoping he didn't tweak anything towards the end of the half...
Could be, he was playing like crazy. I’m betting it’s just for rest and not Injury. Hopefully I’m not corrected.
Maybe an injury
that foul call against leao was so bad. won the ball with his head
Pulisic looks so confident today. When he plays like this he really is borderline world class.
Musah almost. Kicked their fucking ass.
Can tell it’s not America, that would be a panic inducing sound
Omg. Not a fifth player pulled at halftime lol
Oof I understand subbing off Puli to give him rest but at the same time it might haunt them.
Like it is rn
Yeah lol. Puli should’ve played the whole game or until he was exhausted, he was their best attacker in the first half
Giroud destroying them in the air
What happened at the half? It's not like Pulisic going out suddenly gave Napoli all the possession.
He's fine.
Still early in the season, but there could be a good race for the Scudetto in Italy.
Feel like if they were to win the league they needed to win this game or the Juve game
Musah with a hockey assist and is heavily involved in the attack.
Milan's attack has completely fallen apart without our guy pulling the strings. If it was a planned sub, that's a ridiculous substitution that might end up costing Milan the game.
What a fucking ball from Puli for Giroud's goal. I'm cheering for Napoli but its always good to see our boys playing well
What's your connection to Napoli?
Don't have one other than just watching Kvaradona and Oshimen last year which was a ton of fun. But in general, I will always cheer against Super League teams, because that went against everything that I love about soccer. So like if Milan is playing any Italian team other than Inter or Juve, I'll hope for Puli to have a brace both assisted by Musah but for them to lose 3-2
Noted, makes sense
Pulled Puli at the half. Hope he didn’t pick up a nick, only reason I could see for the change. I thought he was on fire in the 1st half. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Yeah I thought about that too. Time will tell I reckon.
Of course I want to see the USMNT thrive and do great things but I can’t express the joy I have seeing our best players shine week in and out with top clubs in Europe. It brings so much joy to me
I hear ya brother. These are great times we live in.
Plus we have the technology and access to actually watch all their games!!!
Holy shit what a goal.
Nice layoff by Musah
Time for Musah to pull some heroics
What a game!!!
Between that and PSV-Ajax we had Americans involved in some wild games today.
Pulisic subbed off at the half. Anyone have any inside skinny on why? He hurt?
No clear news.
The Pulisic sub will prove to have been an awful decision if it wasn’t for an injury But regardless of whether AC Milan continues to fumble the bag, this has been an awesome game to watch. It’s been high octane since the first minute
Going from the MLS playoffs to this today is insane lol, level of play is ridiculous in this game
Normally minute management subs are in the 60th min no? Hopefully nothing bad.
They also don't play again for a full week. Not sure I fully buy the "minute management" thing here.
looking to be a terrible move subbing pulisic at half
Actually insane how much worse Milan have looked since Pulisic was subbed off.
insane how their attack has come to rely on him
Milan looks amazing
That was a banger.
Idk about you guys but most of my focus is now on my F5 key waiting for CP news.
Puli being pulled at half has me nervous...
Pulisic not coming out this second half has me incredibly nervous
Completely toothless since Pulisic sub
When Giroud slid the ball over I was hoping Pulisic would put his laces through the ball.
What a miss by napoli
Lovely from Musah there.

Someone on the acmilan match thread said Brazilian commentators mentioned it was precautionary for muscle fatigue.
Playing every three days will do that to you.
[удалено]
They don’t play midweek this week.
[удалено]
Haha he’s doing so good today too
Idiotic to remove Pulisic
He is injured, muscle strain apparently
Not injured. Muscle strain ≠ Muscle injury. Most athletes get massages to relieve the tightness and are usually ok to go on.
Most athletes aren’t injury prone like Pulisic. You yank him off at any hint of discomfort.
What is happening?!?
Fans are too lit I think
I guess this is what happens when you have a **9:45PM** kickoff time.
Oh my Theo Hernandez 😅
What happened?
