Thanks, ya i had seen something about Wiseguys, but on Tuesdays they have open mic night, so not sure i’d want to travel all the way to Vegas to risk an amateur open mic sets. That’s something we’ve done in our hometown.
Comedy Cellar seems like half the price of Garretts i just noticed 40/80, which is interesting.
Comedy Cellar is solid, been countless times. YMMV due to the audience; had some great times where the comedians killed it, and others where the audience (not everyone obviously) wouldn't shut the fuck up and you could tell when the comedians "lost it". But that's probably just about any comedy show. If you go, there's really not a lot at the Rio. I'd park 30-45 minutes before showtime, maybe grab a drink, and then after the show go somewhere that's actually worth a damn. Have a great trip!
That happened last night. It took the team until the last comedian who freak tf out for them to toss a whole table. Then lots of huffing and puffing on their way out. The rio was dead (Sunday night) but the comedians were decent. I’d try it again with a better line up and on another day!
Went to Jimmy Kimmel yesterday, it was not great lol. The middle guy was okay with the crowd work, and the opener was fine for some people, but the last person pretty much was on a 45 minute ‘ERRRM BIDEN AND TRUMP R EUMB?????’ And I’m like it’s so played lol. I hope the cocaine he snorted before the show was great though lol
Went to Kimmel twice and was underwhelmed both times. Once the opener used a photo of herself in her mid-20s (?) and gorgeous. She was unrecognizable when she came on stage, 20 years and 80 lbs different with a short hair and a mumu outfit. It was confusing and I was embarrassed for her. She was a little bit funny and didn’t look bad for her age. Just use a more recent photo, damn.
Had a great time at Brad Garrett’s. I will never forget one of the opener’s first jokes. This was right after the Will Smith Oscars slap. “So I’ll just get this out of the way now. Does anyone here suffer from alopecia?”
You put a shitty comedian in a great club and you still will be seeing a shitty comedian. That being said, Wiseguys, IMHO, is the way to go depending on who's there. Comedy Cellar is also good. Have fun!
Caparulo is at Kimmel's every Tuesday. I love that guy! If you ever saw him on Chelsea Lately, then you know his rambling style. But I've always wanted to check out the Comedy Cellar. I haven't been to Garret's since it moved upstairs. Maybe see if any of the headliners have YouTube videos so you can get a feel for their act and choose from there...
Wise guys. Two locations. One in the arts district in one on Las Vegas boulevard. They normally have shows Friday Saturdays and Sundays.
Second wiseguys. They even have open mics which have a mix between seasoned and new performers
third on Wise Guys. saw TJ Miller when he was here last. killed
Fourth on Wise Guys especially the one in the arts district. Go eat at Able Baker Brewery right across the street first.

Brad Garrett's Comedy Club at the MGM is a fun spot.
I’ve had good times at Brad Garrett. Not so good at Jimmy Kimmel. No bathroom at Jimmy’s:-( plus both comedians opener and headliner sucked at Jk.

While the Rio is past its expriration date, the Comedy Cellar is fantastic. HIghly reccomend it out of the options listed.
