Guys look at this leak
>Ch 2020 (Mostly confirmed)

>People refuse to don masks and be vaccinated, leading to the outbreak prolonging

kinda hopeful the leak gets deconfirmed. It would be really weird for the author to basically undo all the character developments in previous outbreak arcs. But time will tell i guess

Villains that are only doing it for the sake of being evil my beloved
Queen actually has an understandable motive given what little information she had. She wanted to turn the entire world into a Dark World so everyone could live happily forever. She just hadn't known about the whole "destroying the world" bit such an act would entail.
Not just that, but she seems to genuinely care about her citizens. She tries to make the crew's captures as comfortable as possible, and the werewires you can actually talk to claim being one isn't as bad as they thought. In fact, iirc, she only seemed to have become "evil" once her Dark Fountain was opened.
To me she seems less evil and more like a bumbling fucking idiot.
This is really embarrassing for me but when I was like 4 years old watching that scene, in my mind I went "Wow, that guy is so nice to return a little girl's doll :)" Oh, where has my innocence gone...
Mulan had only a few songs, yet every one was fire. It had cool action. It had compelling characters and funny jokes. It had an intimidating villain. I don’t understand how some people can consider it a below average Disney movie, are their brains that smooth?
Disney animated film Mulan. The leader of the Huns, an absolute fucking demon named Shan-Yu (or Wu I don't remember) finds a child'a doll in a valley. He and his group surmise that it points too an army encampment nearby. He then says "Besides," and then the original comment. He says this while smiling.
Later on in the film, an upbeat song our heroes are singing about their dream girls is abruptly cut off by the discovery of the army encampment that The Huns massacred.
People always mention Jack Horner but it is a bad example. Like yeah, he is an asshole but he isn't because he is naturally evil, he is like that because he is a spoiled inmature manbaby
Pure evil villains - or any villain, really - are only poorly written if one forgets to add an element of intrigue to them.
The one thing that matters is making them interesting.
Yeah they should allways have a motivation and depth to their character but many times those gray villains with "oh i want to save the world" motives are shallows as hell a lot of the time.
I mean the nazis had a motivation to establish their idea of a utopia, and to do that they needed land and money for the “superior” people to live with free healthcare, lots of land, and ironically a lot of animals rights, all this at the cost of pretty much everyone else. They definitely had a motivation, one that was deluded and cruel, but it was a motivation. Of course this doesn’t count certain scientists, SS, or other psychopaths who basically just used the opportunity to carry out violence. Guys like Pol Pot and Mao also had ideas of their utopia, they were just terrible, backwards, stupid and cruel, but they still have a motivation and a desire for what they considered a better world.
A pure evil character would be something like nithogg from Norse mythology. He chews at the roots of Yggdrasil because he hates it and he hates all life. He chews at everything and everyone that comes to him. He hangs people from his wings. All this just out of malice, there is no end goal or twisted utopia, he just wants pain. He’s not killing to further any goal other than hurting things. I don’t even think he likes hurting things, he just does it out of spite.
That kind of pure evil can only be done through something inhuman either literally or metaphorically.
Bill cipher doesn’t even resemble an organic life form and all he wants is freedom and chaos,single-mindedly, at the expense of anything and everything else
Anton Chigurh from “no country for old men” is another example. He represents a force of nature more than anything. He just kills and kills nonchalantly and often based on a system of ethics entirely created within his own mind. He is calm and methodical and kills just about everything around him for reasons unknown. He doesn’t even seem to take great joy in it. He’s evil like a plague or a wildfire. He just burns up whatever’s nearest him with only chance dictating whether or not you survive.

Belos is an irredeemable monster I love it
YES! my go-to pure evil example! What an asshole he is, joyfully laughing at convincing a child to cut open his brother, convincing noel her life was worthless and her existence is only harmful to her friends, tricking tsunaki into using an ars magus that drains the light from you're soul. Dude's an A class psychopath who enjoys what he does, not just to achieve a goal, but because it's fun.
For some context, that vampire claimed to br Jew, so the cross of Jesus Christ had no power over him
And the other guy is just the definition of modern problems require modern solutions

I’ve seen it’s a couple times where people criticize characters who want to make changes to society usually with the good intents but do really evil shit.
They did it for their own reasons. In order to prevent ourselves and future generations from repeating the same mother's, it's important for us to recognize and understand the things that caused those groups to do the atrocities that they did.
Well, Hitler was motivated, he dreamed of a great Germany, which was fucking insane and included the extermination of the Jews, which he thought would somehow improve Germany.
I really hate that argument too because characters are not human, they are storytelling devices. The quality of a character is dependent on how well they further the story not by how believable they are as a human being.
Doesn’t matter. It’s not like they had evil means to get to a good goals, they had evil goals, they wanted to exterminate most of the human population.
Nah but like nazis actually believed they were making the human race beter but a character like Freezer in dragon ball doesn't really care about making the world a beter placd
But if a vilain believes what he's doing is legit gonna help the human race then he's not really purely evil he just thinks the ends justify the means no?
I dunno what op smoking but hitler hated the jews purely because germany hated the jews for so long that nobody can even pinpoint when germany started hating the jews, it might be because germany blamed the jews for the black plague or something that happened even longer before. Truth is, there seems to have been a lot of spite involved. Hell, Hitler vehemently opposed animal cruelty, so unless you think mistreating animals’ cool, your point’s kind of easy to refute. Edit: Thx Reddit for refusing outright basic comprehension.
![gif](giphy|ekGtO8r7CY7gVNwbvT)
"Um aktually Hitler made laws to prevent animal cruelty, methinks that counteracts him launching a war of extermination that killed tens of millions, resulted in the rape of atleast 10 million women and destroyed heritage across Europe."
Another strawman huh? I never said it justifies him killing millions of people, nor that it makes him a good guy or whatever the likes of which you could outright strawman. I’m just saying that there still were parts of him that were good, no matter how much the bad parts obscure the good ones. You’re just messing with me huh?
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Straw_man The straw man fallacy occurs in the following pattern of argument:
Person 1 asserts proposition X.
Person 2 argues against a superficially similar proposition Y, falsely, as if an argument against Y were an argument against X.
This reasoning is a fallacy of relevance: it fails to address the proposition in question by misrepresenting the opposing position.
For example:
1.Quoting an opponent's words out of context—i.e., choosing quotations that misrepresent the opponent's intentions (see fallacy of quoting out of context).[3]
2.Presenting someone who defends a position poorly as the defender, then denying that person's arguments—thus giving the appearance that every upholder of that position (and thus the position itself) has been defeated.[2]
3.Oversimplifying an opponent's argument, then attacking this oversimplified version.
4.Exaggerating (sometimes grossly) an opponent's argument, then attacking this exaggerated version. You outright misrepresented my point in order to make it seem as though the misrepresentation is my point so that you may easily refute my argument.
I dunno what you're smoking bud. Are you saying that ops point is easy to refute coz Hitler wasn't pure evil? I got news for you, he was. Opposing animal cruelty doesn't redeem Hitler in the slightest. He led multiple social groups to slaughter and plunged the world into a war.
Alright name someone who is pure evil then. A man who kidnaps, rapes and eats a dozen innocent kids a year could have a loving family or a pet he cares for, he's still nothing short of pure evil. Don't get hung up on what pure evil implies literally.
"pure evil characters are bad writing"

"Damn, I've been slightly mistreated. Time to blame an unrelated ethnicity and kill 5 million people."
I really don't see a single argument that could ever even begin to remotely justify his line of thought alone.

The Great War arc had some great moments but the story was just too hard to follow for the casual audience. Very rewarding if you go out of your way to read the lore but if you only follow the main Manga, most of it makes no sense. World War Season 2 struck a great balance of having a simple yet intriguing story with a one dimensional main antagonist, but also a lot of deeper, more complicated lore for those who are interested.
too many story lines that were so far apart tbh, like the western front, eastern front and don't get me started on the other places around the world, the author could have been a bit more concise and should have focused on one person tbh
Here’s hoping the next arc is more focused. The Mangaka hinted it might be nuclear Armageddon to function as a sort of soft world reset. They’ve really grown as an author since they first started so I’m hopeful for the story’s future. Still though that’s just speculation.

Agreed, after two back to back large scale conflicts, a third has the potential to be excessive. Personally I’m hoping for more technological advancement. Especially the air vehicles.
Bill cipher doesn’t even resemble an organic life form and all he wants is freedom and chaos,single-mindedly, at the expense of anything and everything else Anton Chigurh from “no country for old men” is another example.

He's just greedy
Yuuki Terumi is fun.
YES! my go-to pure evil example!
But he had motivation...he wanted rule over Germany (and the world) and used Jewish people as a scape goat...
Franky rivers?
Pure hate is a powerful motive
"Pure evil villains are bad" mofos when i show them Jack Horner.
YO! SOY JACINTO GRANDE!!
For some context, that vampire claimed to br Jew, so the cross of Jesus Christ had no power over him And the other guy is just the definition of modern problems require modern solutions
Having bad characters with good ideals who do evil things is bad writing, no one with good ideal will do something like tha- Ussr, china, and Cuba: https://preview.redd.it/t1jbjinp563b1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9b3641d6a82945e49c9ed0b22d0c9b2c50f1e3ec
I have never heard that take before
I’ve seen it’s a couple times where people criticize characters who want to make changes to society usually with the good intents but do really evil shit.
That actor is quite famous down here in Mexico, César Bono... Or as we call him... Frankiiieee Rivers!
And then, one day, for no reason at all...
The Djinn from Wishmaster. Especially in that first movie dude is funny as fuck.
Good movie, I recommend it OP
Jack Horner is one of my all time favorite movie characters and that’s his whole deal, wonder what that says about me
“My name is not important”

They did it for their own reasons. In order to prevent ourselves and future generations from repeating the same mother's, it's important for us to recognize and understand the things that caused those groups to do the atrocities that they did.
Well, Hitler was motivated, he dreamed of a great Germany, which was fucking insane and included the extermination of the Jews, which he thought would somehow improve Germany.
You fool. All my descendants are jews....
I really hate that argument too because characters are not human, they are storytelling devices. The quality of a character is dependent on how well they further the story not by how believable they are as a human being.
Are saying Nazi’s are pure evil?
Are you trying to say they aren't?
OP is saying that
Yes?
yes, because they are. are you suggesting otherwise?
The nazis actually believed they were in the right though
Doesn’t matter. It’s not like they had evil means to get to a good goals, they had evil goals, they wanted to exterminate most of the human population.
But thats a good goal in their mind though
yeah, no different from pure evil villains in fiction who want to kill the whole universe because they want silence or whatever.
Nah but like nazis actually believed they were making the human race beter but a character like Freezer in dragon ball doesn't really care about making the world a beter placd
You can be purely evil and still believe you are doing the right thing thats like basic villain writing advice for novice writers.
![gif](giphy|ekGtO8r7CY7gVNwbvT) "Um aktually Hitler made laws to prevent animal cruelty, methinks that counteracts him launching a war of extermination that killed tens of millions, resulted in the rape of atleast 10 million women and destroyed heritage across Europe."
Another strawman huh? I never said it justifies him killing millions of people, nor that it makes him a good guy or whatever the likes of which you could outright strawman. I’m just saying that there still were parts of him that were good, no matter how much the bad parts obscure the good ones. You’re just messing with me huh?
My man that's not what a strawman is. Is that just a word you heard today and are trying it out?
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Straw_man The straw man fallacy occurs in the following pattern of argument: Person 1 asserts proposition X. Person 2 argues against a superficially similar proposition Y, falsely, as if an argument against Y were an argument against X. This reasoning is a fallacy of relevance: it fails to address the proposition in question by misrepresenting the opposing position. For example: 1.Quoting an opponent's words out of context—i.e., choosing quotations that misrepresent the opponent's intentions (see fallacy of quoting out of context).[3] 2.Presenting someone who defends a position poorly as the defender, then denying that person's arguments—thus giving the appearance that every upholder of that position (and thus the position itself) has been defeated.[2] 3.Oversimplifying an opponent's argument, then attacking this oversimplified version. 4.Exaggerating (sometimes grossly) an opponent's argument, then attacking this exaggerated version. You outright misrepresented my point in order to make it seem as though the misrepresentation is my point so that you may easily refute my argument.
My man you are putting alot of effort and emotion into trying to make Hitler work.
Not really, I did after all copied and paste.
Pure evil implies he was only evil, it’s not that hard to understand.
Alright name someone who is pure evil then. A man who kidnaps, rapes and eats a dozen innocent kids a year could have a loving family or a pet he cares for, he's still nothing short of pure evil. Don't get hung up on what pure evil implies literally.
Exactly, no such thing as pure evil, only in books, movies and such. Now try not to look the real world as you would a fictional story.
"Nobody in real world would do incredibly heinous acts with little to no motivation", op has probably never meet a white person
5/10 rage bait. Strong entry but a bit too obvious
That's being a bit generous
this was a joke.
There is yet to be a villain who has a sad backstory but choses to be evil
Magneto, Mr. Freeze and most important of all Dr. Doofenshmirtz
Ah men what the hell, Portugal a estas horas?
Big Jack Horner
"pure evil characters are bad writing" kid named belos: https://preview.redd.it/lu7pl9ej973b1.png?width=1200&format=png&auto=webp&s=b75ed0687a095e77a0a988aba4386d15d7a650f6
tbf Hitler didn't went Pure evil mode by himself alone people around him just throw all of their shit on him
"Damn, I've been slightly mistreated. Time to blame an unrelated ethnicity and kill 5 million people." I really don't see a single argument that could ever even begin to remotely justify his line of thought alone.
Hitler was nothing more than talking puppet
Based
Hitler had motivation and beliefs though, a lot of characters are just knowingly and constantly evil in behavior for nothing but the sake of it
