Wouldn't say Ghoti is criminally underrated at all. At the moment it's perfectly rated, but about to get a whole lot better come February. I think the Snake-Eye deck is underrated right now. It's consistent, has lots of room for utility or other engines, and has access to a great toolbox.

ZeroReverseR1

Agreed. Ghoti is not quite competitive as it is now but it is playable. The incoming support will definitely give it a decent boost, though I'm not sure if it'll reach meta just yet. The new cards have been great so far in my testing with EDOPro, but I haven't quite found the optimal build/ratios yet.

KostinhaTsimikas

The new support is massive, and easily makes it a solid rogue contender, if not up to Tier 2. It's getting more consistent, it's getting combos that don't lose to any boardbreakers, and the deck has options. It's also the only deck that can actually maximize the use of Crossout, and has access to broken floodgate locks on top of synchro climbing and board wipes. Regarding ratios, all I can say is you might have to be willing to make some tough decisions. Abyss Shark and the White package are ***mandatory***. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. The Ghoti cards are good, but they don't usually get you there on their own. I think the mistake that a lot of players are going to make is playing too many of them, which cuts from how much non-engine can be played. If I were you I'd start with the list that topped YCS Nagoya (4000 players) and go from there. It's honestly not a great list in my opinion, but it's a better starting point than pretty much anything else you'll find on FB or YouTube.

Catalystofdemise

I think with snake eyes it has the ogdoadic and tribrigade treatment of most being an engine for other decks , I have all the snake eyes cards at the moment , I haven't read any of them tbf, I just stick to the sinful spoils diabellestar for rescue ace , which is my main deck, and I was heavily basing my opinion with the support in mind , a already have a blast with Ghoti, it's the only nonmeta relevant deck I could beat tearlaments with and many others bicorn being the sleeper mvp fir plays banish itself to banish another fish and it back if it's your opponents turn during that play go for barren next turn, if your turn wait out your opponents play with a well tuned deep beyond and it's almost free

TheKirbyCat

I feel like gold pride punk is pretty underrated. It doesn't set up many negates, but you can generally end on 5 to 6 forms of interruption with the new full armor cards

Po_TatoThe3rd

What full armor cards, I play gold pride punk and not familiar with full armor archtype.

TheNova_

The new armor xyz cards you make the rank 3 and then rank up to the rank 7 armor xyz All of them have the effect to Summon them self like Zeus without the need for battle

paralyticbeast

so lancer is just another steal after you make pin baller? edit: nvm I see you use fortress to add the trap

HeightFluffy1767

What full armor cards

RK9Roxas

the what?

TheKirbyCat

Full armored xyz cards. It's one main deck garnet and 3 extra deck space for 1 card draw and 1 non targeting non destruction removal.

TheWest_Is_TheBest

Gravekeepers are very fun for turn 1 confusing your opponent

KarnSilverArchon

Snake-Eyes. Flamberge Dragon isn’t an end all be all boss, but it basically refunds itself and has probably the best removal in the game outside of Kaiju effects? It could only really get better if it didn’t target.

Catalystofdemise

I did say I didn't read them ,tbf, and I would say it would be better if it was a quick effect , the targeting would be better than nothing but that removal is pretty slow(just looked it up btw) it would be cool if you could match in with vaylantz, which that effect synergies with

KarnSilverArchon

The fact the effect can also be a reborn makes it more of a modal removal that can also be a resource plus. Its basically a slow Monster Reborn the archetype gives you in just a few summons.

fabrikt

In my (purely online, casual, so grain of salt) testing, Snake-Eyes is pretty good at assembling big aggressive link boards with Apollousa and whatnot, it's just very... boring...? PHNI makes it way more explosive and memorable.

Carnivile

>has probably the best removal in the game outside of Kaiju effects? Nah, that's still Tiaramisu

Psychicmind2

In a weird way, Rikka. Yes, the deck is powerful and has won 2 EU championships, has YCS tops and many regional tops. And yet, **somehow**, most players have never heard of it and have no idea what the cards do. Seriously, so many players don't even know the 2 archetypes (Rikka and Sunavalon) even exist, let alone to know how they function. I don't know how this is even possible. Maybe there's some black magic involved 😂

Deez-Guns-9442

Rikka Sunavalon is only a EU problem deck & thank god for that.

puppetalk

This is very true. I noticed some yugitubers cover literally every single archetype but rikka somehow is never covered

Catalystofdemise

This might be the best one yet honestly I haven't seen it played on MD or locals yet alone talked about only reason I know is youtubers

AyeYoMobb

Exosister

TheCorbeauxKing

Exosister has won numerous YCSes.

AyeYoMobb

And still gets forgotten

Catalystofdemise

I would agree with that pick kinda almost forgot they existed

GreatBigPillock

I think that War Rock gets a lot of unwarranted hostility. It's hard to recommend if you're trying to be competitive, but it's great if you need a change of pace. ~~Also, you know the game is fucked when whole damn themes get written off as terrible on the basis of being "too fair".~~

AlexMohr-237

As a fellow War Rock enjoyer I am with you. I have a personal bias as Earth warriors are my favorite monsters. I agree they are definitely not a competitive deck but super fun to play nonetheless

GrumpigPlays

Every time I see a comment calling the new fire kings “salad but worse” I cry a bit

PapaDagobert

Ancient Warriors is a surprisingly good deck and very capable at breaking boards going 2nd. Also you can sideboard into stuff like dimension barrier if you are forced to go first. The only downside is that you don't have any recovery. If something goes to the GY it stays there forever.

OneWhoBalls

Oh the bright side you can run necrovally in the side because it does nothing to your deck, was a fun tech in tear format

Large-Masterpiece-78

Speedroid

SweetlyIronic

DDD. I've been playing it every since the MR change and I discovered two things, the first is that people usually build the deck in a very linear way what ends up restricting their access to a toolbox, and the second is that DDD can consistently end with a threatening board, usually setting up a spell/trap negate and two SS negates. Also read Dark Contract With Eternal Darkness - a card you can search in may ways.

Turtlesfan44digimon

Holy crap super poly and kaiju protection

SweetlyIronic

Doesn't protect against Kaiju because of a ruling nightmare, but it turns off SO much random stuff besides the obvious (like floo), it doesn't* stop stuff like the Rikka boss monster. Also be advised your opponent can't target ANY monsters with spells and traps, even their own, so something like Mannadium Abscission turns off. EDIT: I said something opposite.

Turtlesfan44digimon

Oh because kaijus are unclassified effects?

SweetlyIronic

It's because Kaijus don't tribute for a tribute summon. Eternal darkness was intended to "lock" out the opponents options

KomatoAsha

I feel like a broken record at this point, but, with the right hand, Cyber Dragons can punch through just about anything.

FartherAwayLights

With the right hand Exoida can win

postsonlyjiyoung

Fr most of the people here are coping so hard

Powerman293

The existence of Triple Tactics Thrust makes Cyber Dragons WAY more viable since you can just grab power bond/any fusion spell without jumping through any hoops like the previous ways.

wesbell

Do you have a cyber dragons list that you wouldn't mind sharing? I've been trying to make them work for the past few formats and I can't settle on a list I like, especially the extra deck. Feels like with the wrong hand I just can't do anything at all lol

KomatoAsha

https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpreview.redd.it%2F3fle1aqhm40c1.png%3Fwidth%3D838%26format%3Dpng%26auto%3Dwebp%26s%3D881c42c85770d9e23bf88a8ce9dfbd06155c5cc7 I've been considering replacing Cyber Eternity with another Sieger, but, jury's still out on that one.

wesbell

This is so cool, what an interesting list! Obviously the core is the same but a lot of different tech choices/ratios from mine. I'll have to give it a try. Do you mostly play this in paper?

KomatoAsha

Thanks! I mostly play it on Master Duel, actually - there's not much of a local scene for me, and playing kitchen table with me one or two friends results in curbstomping with this deck. What differences do I run from your own list, out of curiosity?

wesbell

Vier and Drei are the big ones; I haven't ran them in a while, but Vier in particular has a lot of potential. Other than that it's pretty much just ratios. I run 3 clockwork night for example because it's so good at clearing boards.

Sir_Grox

Who winning the blind second OTK mid-off, Cyber Dragon or Tistina

KomatoAsha

How does the Tistina deck typically get its win?

7striker

Chaos with the new support if used correctly

o_underscore

Myutant, it isn't a competetively viable deck by any means, but you can bank on you drawing shifter and your opponent not knowing what Synthesis does, won some locals by doing exactly that

Aegis34

Evil eye got to master with it in less than a week. Pretty easy in the current meta.

averagetristanasimp

mix in coelacanth and you'll be cooking for days

Catalystofdemise

I actually don't run coelacanth , the fact of having to tribute summon , when there are ample ways to banish special summon. I just never actually got to use it but I want to say once, so I cut it, and this is mainly through master duel so side decking isn't much of an option

averagetristanasimp

You don't tribute summon it lmao, you either summon it from hand with paces or abyss keeper, or you mill it with leaffish and summon it with dugares or white aura monoceros, so there's actually plenty of ways to summon him. Using him does require playing smarter since nib/ash/imperm usually means you get little to no follow up. End board using coelacanth can consist of 1 to 2 negates with 1 to 2 other interruptions depending on what you play, on what you drew for turn and if got interrupted or not. I have a decklist I've been testing lately if anyone is interested

Nintendo113

I'd check out a decklist!

averagetristanasimp

Sure thing, I'll post it here. It's far from perfect, but I've tested it and it's what i like to run. There are other tech options you can run, like duskwalker+supay or hop ear, but i felt hop ear is unecessary in this build, and the synchro lock with duskwalker can be annoying. I also run 2 ixeep since the level 4s are useful and he's usually a free ss from hand or from the field spell add. There alot of different builds you can do around ghoti, so just feel free to try things yourself and get cookin. Final note, I don't play crossout cuz its expensive, but if you have it i think it's a must have at 2 or 3, same thing with sp little knight, it's an easy replacement for unicorn, but then again, out of my budget for now. Any tips are always appreciated, so feel free to help improve the list! Main : 2x Nibiru, the Primal Being 3x Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring 2x Superancient Deepsea King Coelacanth 1x Snopios, Shade of the Ghoti 2x Ixeep, Omen of the Ghoti 1x Zep, Ruby of the Ghoti 2x Shif, Fairy of the Ghoti 3x Paces, Light of the Ghoti 1x Fishborg Launcher 3x Lifeless Leaffish 3x Minairuka 1x Silent Angler 1x Gluttonous Reptolphin Greethys 3x Beautunaful Princess 2x The Most Distant, Deepest Depths 1x One for One 2x Triple Tactics Talent 1x Called by the Grave 3x Infinite Impermanence 3x Evenly Matched Extra : 1x Ghoti of the Deep Beyond 2x Arionpos, Serpent of the Ghoti 2x Askaan, the Bicorned Ghoti 1x Swordsoul Supreme Sovereign - Chengying 1x Baronne de Fleur 1x Ravenous Crocodragon Archethys 1x Adamancipator Risen - Dragite 1x White Aura Monoceros 1x Number 4 : Stealth Kragen 1x Number 60 : Dugares the Timeless 1x I:P Masquerena 1x Abyss Keeper 1x Knightmare Unicorn Side : 3x Dimension Shifter 2x Droll & Lock Bird 3x Cosmic Cyclone 3x Dimensional Barrier 3x Anti-Spell Fragrance 1x Abyss Dweller

Tntn13

Also curious of list

averagetristanasimp

Check the thread :)

SSDuelist

…there’s zero reason to Tribute Summon Coelacanth what? I agree it’s win more in the deck but that’s the wrong reason as to why you shouldn’t run it.

Catalystofdemise

But that's like my point I can just use pace for a white fish and ixeep to go into abyss dweller or whatever I'm doing at the moment I just feel there are better plays the go for ceolocanth

SSDuelist

Correct I agree with you. But your logic is wrong. The reason to not use Coelacanth is more what you just described, not the >0.1% of the time you’d be Tribute Summoning it. You would never Tribute Summon it you’d cheat it out.

Catalystofdemise

I think it was more poor explanation, due to never considering cheating out as my go to move I did it once when that was my only play , but I digress and excited for the new white aura and ghoti cards to come up for a much needed power boost

Ursotender

Toons. They were trash back in the day but the newer support cards like Kingdom and Bookmark really helped even this deck out. Its a lot of fun to play casually imo

postsonlyjiyoung

Actual answer and not people just posting their tier 500 pet decks - I think Kashtira is pretty underrated. I don't think it's amazing, but the main deck engine is still really strong, nobody's extra deck is prepared for Unicorn, and shifter is still legal.

DenpaDude220

Evil eye is a very strong deck when you know how it works. You can get like 3 points of interaction off of a singular card popping off

Throwawayuntil2030

S-Force I'll be honest, you read the cards & they don't read great They're not the strongest, & have some issues for sure & hey, maybe it's just because I've put in so much hours in & mastered them But it's a pretty nice, versatile, toolbox deck, with a very unique playstyle Redditors have gotten mad when I say I win consistently with them, they downvote & tell me I'm lying... Then I play again & just keep winning 🤷🏻

Ectier

When played well (Ive tinkered with them a lot), the deck can be extremely annoying. Problem is with a deck like this is they are written off so quickly and only a handful of people will put the time in to work them out. Ive used them on Masterduel and broke through full power drytron with the deck. Once opponent works out the gimmick and zone placement it can go downhill pretty fast

Hotlinedouche

is it possible to see your current list, iam playing them myself and iam always looking for fresh takes and spice i didnt think about.

Ectier

Ogdoadic/reptile pile deck this is a deck thats way more versatile than people give it credit for. It can put out some weird ways of removing opponents cards, drop things to 0, sit on a hard to remove Melusine. Alien links can skill drain opponents field. Big snek can send an entire board to the grave

Catalystofdemise

I use to play ogdoadics with orcust but unfortunately the deck did not age well with bystials hanging around

Ectier

Bystials suuuuuuck

Catalystofdemise

Agreed was my favorite deck for a long time but it just can't handle banishment well at all and more and banish and having a strong hand necessary to complete most combos just got tiresome, tho you get a good hand it would almost take an act of a God to stop, played through max cc , 2 effect veiler, nibiru and ash definitely for me a highlight deck more than anything

Inevitable_Bit7154

I like orcust but their time has passed, and bystials exist so uh, support please?

Panda_Kabob

Phantom Knights baybeee!

Spectre-Ad6049

Infernity. It doesn’t get enough credit for being one of the best decks around in its prime

Toastboaster

Not sure what you mean by that, it was very well established as the best deck for its time and is remembered as one of the most powerful decks in history

TheCorbeauxKing

Archfiend is still on 1.

Likes-Your-Username

As well as lawn chair.

gorikun

played against an infernity deck in duelist cup and my word did I get screwed badly - got deck outted because of the way they could just loop themselves (hindsight, made a bad choice playing max c against them)

NotoriousCarter

Naturia Runick. I think it’s tier 1, insanely good deck for ladder. It’s not as underrated as other mentioned decks tho. Better than kash and lab, toss up against purrely.

RubenTempo

Bystial Runick is the new Naturia Runick in the TCG

postsonlyjiyoung

Sacred tree is at 1 and there are a bunch of decks better than kash

NotoriousCarter

Of crap i thought this was masterduel.

PieSuccessful946

Hieratic

Catalystofdemise

Only know they exist and nothing else about them

DenpaDude220

Look at the tistina cards, I've been doing really well with them as there's no good point of interaction against them

gorikun

In masterduel, Id say synchron swordsoul (or as I call it Junk Soul). Personally gotten way more wins out of it than synchrons (bystial and adventurer builds) or full power swordsoul tenyi as swordsouls eliminate weaknesses of synchrons and synchrons bail out the inevitable occasion when swordsouls are negated. For me, I made it to round 2 of duelist cup (both in tear0 format and most recent format) Worst case scenarios are stalling for a few turns in which case you fold or get a good counter. Best case scenario is a turn 1 end board with 3-4 negates, chaos angel which protects all your cards from being destroyed by battle and protects all your monsters from monster card effects, tonnes of back row options and the ability to boardwipe your opponent next turn. EDIT, also assault synchron in GY to counter any nibiru / kaiju / lava golem/ kurikara/ banishing plays

Genji007

Flamvell

NeonGlo

Raidraptoe with the new support. It's still quite vulnerable to interruption going second , but if you can go first and do full combo turn 1 and resolve Rise Rank Up Magic Raidraptors Force you can just win on the spot

Catalystofdemise

I actually don't know much about raidraptor besides going into ultimate falcon and being annoyed I chose not to run a kaiju on MD or the ps4 game when when you go against that guy and pulls that shit out on you lol

NeonGlo

Rising rebellion falcon, the new rank 13, gets 5300 attack with the new rank 5 as material, and nukes your entire opponents field on summon AND burns your opponent for the combined attack of the destroyed monsters AND can be summoned quick play by the rank up spell. Oh and it's a towers

Catalystofdemise

That should help a bit going second though wouldn't it?

NeonGlo

The only problem is the combo to get there is loooong, and if you get interrupted too much you basically don't have an end board, all you have is level 4 shitters or the odd wise strix link 2 on the field. You're locked pretty early so can't even bail out and make a little knight or unicorn or anything, so the game is just over

[deleted]

Infernoid

Turtlesfan44digimon

Abyss actors

eternalpug56

I would say scareclaw

Catalystofdemise

Scareclaw was just overshadow by its sister archetypes like tear, Kash and Mannadium which is so unfortunate because I like them

TheSupremeGayB

I usually play Machina and I often end up into diamond.. I rarely see anyone play machina much as I do.. I thought they are really good… it feel underrated

DoomkingBalerdroch

**FLUFFAL** Toy vendor rocks!

Grey___Goo_MH

Krawlers lvl 2 spam deck it’s held back by flip being slower it’s field spell “sends” to gy bypassing a few tower immunities/protections

ShiznazTM

Ancient Warriors probably. To an extent. They could probably use 1-2 more cards. It's Dark Ruler for game the deck.

Shadektor

Beetrooper gets too much hate, in my opinion, and it's often because the people who showcase it are on crappy builds and don't know the proper tech cards. I've legit seen people on beetrooper squad and no resonance or pico for a showcase, and when called out, they say ah well it's not meta, so what's it matter?

For_theGhost

Cyber Dragons. Infinity, Rampage, and the potential for strong control early on with typical staples plus the GY effects you can take advantage of in a pinch I’m surprised it’s not seen a lot more.

tk_phizzy

Prank-Kids, Nemleria, Swordsoul, Raidraptor, Bees, Galaxy Eyes lol

Dry-Sandwich279

Nouvelles capable of no targeting removal (multiple times) is strong, but just missing something. Vaalmonica. Deck can non targeting link off opponents stuff and plus easily. Just missing a thing or two(some stuff hasn’t been revealed yet for support) and might genuinely have enough plus to hold up.

Catalystofdemise

Besides balls initial summon they all do target I'm pretty sure but still a lot better than I gave them.credit for was using them in the ritual festival on MD
