Mai was always my favorite when I was a kid, Harpie Lady and her sisters made it into all of my childhood decks
Saaaame. I wish early Harpie cards were better. I made a what if scenario in which the og Harpie Lady was actually Harpie Lady 1 (giving other WIND monsters 300 Atk) and Elegant Egotist instead targeted 1 Harpie Lady you control and made 2 copies of it, but you skipped that turn's Battle Phase. Harpie's Pet Dragon, instead of its real life effect, prevented the opponent from attacking your Harpie Lady, since it already benefited from their ATK boost.
I feel like those changes would have made Harpie Lady super viable during early Yu-Gi Oh!

That card was so cool to me as a kid, and it actually ended up as the namesake for the nickname that I give to Absol (my favorite Pokemon) whenever I catch it in a playthrough of a Pokemon game now, haha.

I'm actually glad I got smarter as I got older because my high school self was a dumbass and before anyone else ask the question "Why are you calling your young self a dumbass?" In high school because I couldn't read good at the time, I traded my complete Elemental Hero deck for the Egyptian god cards that I found out later I could never play with. Hence why I called myself a dumbass, but I did manage to remake the deck so I'm happy.

I’ve always been a fan of Lightsworn cards and this one has to be one of my favorites. The art style and color makes it eye catching!
So many of the vanillas from the first couple years just had a certain charm to them. Celtic Guardian, Feral Imp, Flame Swordsman, Curse of Dragon, Uraby, Harpie’s Brother, Battle Ox (and Rabid Horseman), Rude Kaiser, they just had a certain vibe to them that made the game feel a bit more engaging at the time.
I love the jars. Cyber, morphing and morphing #2. Needle worm too. My fondest memory is the mill deck I had and I decked an opponent and he threw his deck.

Some random ones just because we're Flame Swordsman, kojikocy, Celtic Guardian, La Jinn, Gemini Elf, Vorse Raider, Axe Raider, Tiger Axe. These were mainly cor the card art but obviously Gemini elf and Vorse Raider being 1900 beaters served a purpose. For the effects I always loved and still do love Marauding Captain, Obnoxious Celtic Guard, Buster Blader, Blowback Dragon, Gilford the Lightning when you could pull it off was awesome. Classic staples I will always love Raigeki, Mirror Force, Harpies Feather Duster, MST, Sakuretsu Armor. I could keep going but that's probably enough haha
In the first cards i love Black Luster Soldier or Makyura the destructor (his effect are simply nefarious I understand why he's banned from tournaments ? But in my deck he have a good spot

So many of the vanillas from the first couple years just had a certain charm to them. Celtic Guardian, Feral Imp, Flame Swordsman, Curse of Dragon, Uraby, Harpie’s Brother, Battle Ox (and Rabid Horseman), Rude Kaiser, they just had a certain vibe to them that made the game feel a bit more engaging at the time.
Back in the days, the artwork was simple and elegant.

I love the jars. Cyber, morphing and morphing #2. Needle worm too. My fondest memory is the mill deck I had and I decked an opponent and he threw his deck. Gotta love BLS envoy, barrel behind the door, og ring of destruction and shinato king of a higher plane
Some random ones just because we're Flame Swordsman, kojikocy, Celtic Guardian, La Jinn, Gemini Elf, Vorse Raider, Axe Raider, Tiger Axe. These were mainly cor the card art but obviously Gemini elf and Vorse Raider being 1900 beaters served a purpose. For the effects I always loved and still do love Marauding Captain, Obnoxious Celtic Guard, Buster Blader, Blowback Dragon, Gilford the Lightning when you could pull it off was awesome. Classic staples I will always love Raigeki, Mirror Force, Harpies Feather Duster, MST, Sakuretsu Armor. I could keep going but that's probably enough haha
