No idea but it is very weird. I’ve only found one npc who even mentions Kass and they don’t even refer to him by name. I can’t imagine why nintendo would just pretend Kass never existed. My only guess is that they want him to be a focus for the dlc similar to BOTW

discord0mod

It’s sad I loved it when I heard his song from afar

YellowJello_OW

No idea but I read he's not in the game

Okay - dumb question: is Kass the bird guy who gives you the shrine quests? They sometimes change the names with translations of the game and Im not sure if that’s the guy you’re talking about.

[deleted]

Yes, Kass was the Rito with the accordion. He gave shrine quests and played Epona’s Song outside of the stables

roll_to_lick

Oh, yes I love that funky little bird. Though, another fun fact: Ritos are called “Ornis” in the German game, which is literally Latin for bird. So now I had to Google what they are called in Japanese because I thought “Hm, maybe “rito” means bird in Japanese?” Well, it doesn’t. But “Tori” means bird lol.

Gushiloolz

They are called Ornis in Spanish too.

[deleted]

The way the Japanese alphabet works, and I'm grossly oversimplifying, to and ri are each one character. So rito is bird backward in Japanese.

MyNameIsJupiter287

He was so important to the botw dlc. Wait for dlc, I have a hunch he'll be back.

MissionDaddy

When you complete a certain line of side quests there may be a reference to him? I dunno someone can confirm or deny please but >!after completing all of the Lucky Gazette quests you can find the bird guy on a bluff and he has a line about a bard or something!<

HG1998

He either died because of the Rito's short lifespan or left the queendom. Your choice.

Yes. Kass was the Rito with the accordion who gave you the shrine quests. He also played Epona’s Song outside at the stables.

I went to two areas where he was in botw (the gerudo mountains tower with the massive hole that apparently goes to the depths, and that one shrine where you have to shoot one arrow through the hole of two different rocks.) The rocks one had a korok and the tower had nothing. Hopefully he comes back in a dlc. A post game story with the scope of champions ballad but set in an epilogue would be very cool. I know most people haven’t seen the ending so I won’t go into details but at least to me it didn’t feel like the end of this link and Zelda’s story. Unless they somehow make a new map with the same characters I think it would be a really bad idea to do a third game in the botw mini-series though. I’m hoping for a Witcher 3 blood and wine-esque story where it takes place 3 years after the main story even though it’s like Zelda where you just reload before the final boss. You can also fast travel between the dlc area and the main map with no problems. I’m not really expecting Nintendo to make a whole new region or something just having a story that takes place at some point after the story would be fine. Even if it wouldn’t really make sense with the ending and link >! Regaining his regular arm!<, I think most people would be able to look past it for some good post game content.

No his family were in Rito Village and iirc you can still see his daughters running around in totk

curiousfoxlover82

One of my biggest criticisms of this game too: no bird

Logondo

If Kass isn't in the game, my money's on him returning in a DLC.

Dude’s probably off somewhere in Hytopia
